A 26 year old Sarnia woman is facing two charges after having been the driver of a van that entered a ditch in the area of Waterworks Road and Confederation Street on Friday, July 20, around 8:20 PM. She is charged with Impaired Operation and Drive with Over 80 MG. A 31 year Sarnia woman, who was a passenger in the van, was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries after falling from the vehicle. Two others passengers were not injured.
Open liquor was seized from the scene. A 30 year old Kettle Point man was also arrested a short time later as it was discovered he was on a Recognizance of Bail with conditions not to consume alcohol and not to associate with one of the people in the van. He was arrested and held for bail, charged with two counts of Breach of Recognizance and one count of Breach of Probation.
