Missing 12 Year Old Boy

Sarnia Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12 year old boy.

Kyle Fraser was last seen in the area of Indian Road North and Michigan Avenue at 4:00pm.

Kyle Fraser is a white male, short in height with a medium build. He has shaggy reddish, dirty blond hair. He was last seen wearing a grey ball cap (turned backwards), an orange winter jacket, a teal coloured v-neck American Eagle shirt, grey skinny jeans and blue and green high-top skateboard sneakers.

Update: Pedestrian/Bus Collision

On December 1, 2014 a female pedestrian was struck by a local Transit Bus at the intersection of Devine Street and Indian Road in the City of Sarnia just before 1:00pm.

The female was transported to the local hospital by ambulance and then to a London Hospital. The injuries are still unknown at this time but a recent update indicated she is still being cared for in London.

The Sarnia Police Service is asking for any member of the public who may have witnessed this collision to contact PC Mark Berger of the Sarnia Police Service Traffic Unit at 519-344-8861 (ext. 6156).

Update: Convenience Store Robbery

Sarnia Police have charged Johnathan Jee-Duk Won aged 19 years with several offences related to a November 29 robbery in Sarnia.

On Saturday, November 29, 2014 shortly before 3:00 PM, a male party armed with a knife, and with his face concealed entered a convenience store in the area of Wellington and East Streets. He confronted the clerk with a knife, and had the clerk turn over an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes. The accused was arrested a short time later.

The accused face charges including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, weapons dangerous to the public and breaching his bail conditions.

He remains in custody and appears in court again on December 4, 2014

Update: “Cops for Cans”

Cops for Cans exceeded expectations for a second year in a row.

The organizer of the event Constable Jim McCabe reports that Sarnia Police officers and their families collected 2561 pounds of food for the less fortunate in the Community. That is 880 pounds more food than collected last year. This year’s donations will help put food on the table for a number of people in need at Christmas time. Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event and donated food. The Sarnia Police Service would also like to thank the folks at Walmart and Loblaws Superstore for their support and assistance.

Two Young Persons Charged

Date: December 1, 2014

On Saturday November 27, 2014 at about 11:00 p.m. a Sarnia Police Service officer stopped a 16 year old girl on East Street for not having a light on her bicycle. It was discovered that the girl was on probation with certain conditions. She was arrested and during a search of her back pack police located a small amount of crystal methamphetamine and a knife which by its design is prohibited in Canada. She has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of breaching her probation.

On Sunday November 30, 2014 at about 9:50 p.m. Sarnia Police Service responded to a call of someone discharging a shotgun from a porch of a home on Tashmoo Avenue. Police attended the residence and arrested a 17 year old male. A 12 gauge shotgun was located and seized from the home. The 17 year old male was held for bail and charged with weapons dangerous, careless use of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and ammunition and three counts of breaching his probation.

Sarnia Police uniform officers apprehend robbery suspect shortly after incident occurred

On Saturday, November 29, 2014 shortly before 3:00 PM, a male party armed with a knife, and with his face concealed entered a convenience store in the area of Wellington and East Streets. He confronted the clerk with a knife, and had the clerk turn over an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

The male departed the store on foot, and was arrested by police shortly thereafter one block away.

There were no injuries as a result of this incident, and all property was recovered.

The male is held in custody for a bail hearing.

Second Person Charged For Animal Cruelty

On the 19th of October 2014, Sarnia Police attended the 900 block of Colborne Road when a concerned citizen called regarding a small dog found alive in a dumpster wrapped in a garbage bags, with significant injuries. The OSPCA along with the Sarnia Police have investigated this matter. It was determined that the dog had been left in the dumpster for several days. Due to the severe injuries sustained by the dog it was euthanized.

On November 18, 2014 the Sarnia Police Service charged a 22 year old male with two counts of animal cruelty.

Police have made a second arrest in relation to this investigation. On November 27, 2014 police charged an 18 year old woman with two counts of animal cruelty.
