Sarnia Police are once again teaming up with the Inn of the Good Shepherd for the upcoming Christmas holiday season in hopes of making sure the Inn has enough food to provide for those in need this time of year.
The Sarnia Police Service is hosting the 6th annual “Cops for Cans” event this Saturday, November 10th, 2018 from 10am – 3pm. The event will take place in front of Wal-Mart at 1444 Quinn Drive and in front of the Real Canadian Superstore at 600 Murphy Road.
Sarnia Police cruisers will be parked at both lots near the entrances to the stores with emergency lights activated so they will be easy to spot. The goal is to fill the inside of the cruisers with non-perishable food that will go to the Inn of the Good Shepherd here in Sarnia.
There will also be prepackaged bags of non-perishable food that can be purchased in store or you can bring or purchase your own non-perishable product. All donated bags will go directly to the Inn of the Good Shepherd here in Sarnia.
We are excited to be hosting this event to help the Inn of the Good Shepherd provide for those in need at Christmas time. The event continues to grow and exceed expectations. Since its inception 6 years ago, volunteer Sarnia Police officers have raised more than 28000 pounds of food for those in need. Please attend and support this worthy cause.
