Motor Vehicle Collision Causes Power Outage

On February 18, 2024, at approximately 2:20 pm, the Sarnia Police Service, as well as Sarnia Fire Rescue and Lambton EMS, responded to the intersection of Confederation Street and Murphy Road for a single vehicle collision.

A 68 year-old female driver suffered a medical event while operating her vehicle which caused it to veer off the road striking a hydro box.

Emergency first aid was provided to the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle. The driver was transported to hospital. No serious injuries were sustained as a result of the collision.

A small area of the city was affected by a power outage, which Bluewater Power worked quickly to resolve.

The Sarnia Police Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation, at this time they have concluded their preliminary work at the scene and the intersection, which had been closed for a short period, has been reopened to traffic. The investigation is ongoing.
