On Friday, December 29th at approximately 11:54 p.m., the Sarnia Police Service received a call for a suspicious vehicle parked on the grass outside of an apartment complex on Afton Drive.

As officers arrived on scene and approached the vehicle, a male exited the car and became confrontational with police. The male continued to reach back inside the driver’s side of the vehicle. There was also a female sitting in the front passenger’s side of the vehicle.

As officers approached the vehicle, they noticed a handgun located between the driver’s side and the centre console. Both individuals in the motor vehicle were arrested. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a large kitchen knife hidden beneath the steering column of the vehicle.

The weapon in this incident has been determined to be a pellet gun.
