Shortly after 6:15 PM, on November 4, 2020, officers from the Sarnia Police Service responded to a break and enter and a violent assault which occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Montrose Street.
Upon arriving at the residence on Montrose Street officers located a victim who had sustained what appeared to be several stab wounds. The 28-year-old male victim in this matter was subsequently transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second victim, 34 years of age, was also present and only sustained minor injuries and did not require any medical attention.
Officers were able to determine that the suspects in this matter had broken into the residence and attacked the two victims. During the altercation weapons such as a hammer and a machete were used to inflict harm. At one point the male suspect grabbed a replica hand gun, that was a BB gun, and fired a single shot at the 28-year-old victim, fortunately the victim was not struck.
The two victims and the two accused were known to each other.
A short time later that evening officers were able to locate the two suspects and they were arrested without incident.
The first accused is a Kevin Rene Racette, 30 years of age, of Sarnia. Racette is facing the following charges:
The second accused is Emily Danby Wasson, 21 years of age, of Sarnia. Wasson is facing the following charges:
Both accused remain in custody and are awaiting a bail hearing.
