Cab Driver Assaulted

Broadcast time: 1:25pm

Date: January 5, 2022

A 36 year old female from Sarnia was arrested after allegedly assaulting a taxi driver on Monday night.

On the evening of January 3rd, 2022, the accused in this matter requested the services of a local taxi company. During this time, the cab driver made multiple stops at the fare’s request. At one point during the ride, the accused became irate and began yelling at the driver. When the taxi reached the area of Queen Street and Talfourd Street, the female began striking the victim as he was in the middle of the intersection.

At this point, the driver cancelled the fare, pulled over and advised her to exit the cab. The female exited the cab and attended a nearby apartment where she was turned away by the occupants. She then re-attended the cab and requested another ride which was denied by the victim. At this time she allegedly began striking the victim a second time with closed fists through the window of the vehicle.

At approximately 11:45pm, Sarnia Police attended this area and the female was located walking away from the victim’s location.

As a result, Keira Leigh Stirling was arrested and charged with Assault. She was then transported to the Sarnia Police Headquarters where she was held for bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody. Her next court appearance is scheduled for January 7th, 2022.

The victim suffered minor injuries in this case.
