On June 11, 2019, the Sarnia Police Service, will be begin taking reports regarding motor vehicle collisions at the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC).
The CRC office will be located to the left of the front entrance upon entering the Sarnia Police Headquarters at 555 North Christina St. The office will be operated by Accident Support Services Ltd (www.accsupport.com ).
CRC’s are common place through most communities in Ontario. They allow individuals to report less serious collisions in a much more effective manner rather than having to wait long periods of time before police can respond.
It also allows officers to continue attending calls that are much more serious in nature. It will allow officers to direct their attention towards traffic enforcement that in turn may prevent future collisions from ever happening.
For the first month, as part of a “soft launch”, officers will continue to attend collision scenes to assist drivers regarding the process of attending the CRC.
The CRC office will operate Monday to Friday between the hours of 10 am to 6 pm and will be closed on weekends and Holidays.
The following lays out information to be exchanged between drivers, what drivers are expected to do if involved in a collision, and exceptions to when officers will attend:
