A 70 year old female from Sarnia was transported to hospital with serious injuries after a collision yesterday afternoon.
On October 13th, 2020 just prior to 1pm, Sarnia Police, Sarnia Fire and Lambton EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Wellington Street and Brock Street regarding a two-vehicle collision. In this case, one SUV was travelling north on Brock Street while another SUV was travelling west on Wellington Street. The westbound vehicle failed to stop at a red light striking the second SUV which sent this northbound vehicle off road causing it to collide with a building in the 200 block of Wellington Street.
The 59 year old male driver and 53 year old male passenger in the westbound vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 70 year old driver in the northbound vehicle was also taken to local hospital and subsequently transported to London with serious injuries.
A 59 year old male from Thedford, Ontario was charged under The Highway Traffic Act with “Red Light – Fail to Stop” which carries a total fine of $325.00 and a gain of 3 demerit points upon conviction.
