Recently the Sarnia Police Service has been receiving calls from concerned citizens regarding email phishing scams.
According to the information received an email comes to individuals advising that an order has been shipped. From there the person opens up the order to confirm information and is sent to a site where personal information is asked for and gathered. This information is in turn used to conduct fraudulent activity.
A sample photo of the email is attached below.
We are reminding everyone if you have not ordered anything or do not even use the company claiming to need your information do not open the message and definitely do not give any information. Again, this is an attempt to gather information from individuals so they can use your identity to conduct fraudulent activity.
Please just delete the information and ignore. These scam artists continue to develop scams with different twists and turns to make one believe that it is sincere but unfortunately all they wish to do is take advantage of people.
