On January 20, 2019, at approximately 9:55 PM, a male, driving a truck, was travelling northbound on Lambton Mall Road and struck the median and in doing so knocked over a street sign. The vehicle then proceeded northbound across Quinn Drive and drove up over the curb and onto the grassy area in front of Princess Auto into the parking lot.
The truck then struck a cart corral. The vehicle then reversed and travelled forward again and travelled through the parking lot and into the front windows of the Princess Auto store causing significant damage. The store was closed at the time. The driver then stepped out of the vehicle and started to walk away from the scene. Officers located the driver still in the area and contacted paramedics to tend to his injuries. During the time that the driver was being medically treated a brief struggle broke out with police which was quickly brought under control.
The accused, Corbyn Critchfield, 20 years of age, faces one count of operation of a conveyance while impaired by drugs.
Aside from the minor injuries sustained by the accused no one else was injured at the store as there were still employees inside.
