Morning Arrest Leads to Weapon Seizure

A 25 year old male from Sarnia who was arrested this morning on fraud related offences is now facing additional charges.

On October 14th, 2020, shortly after 10:30am, an officer in the Community Response Division observed the accused in this matter in the area of Queen Street and Johnston Street. The officer was aware this individual was wanted for outstanding Fraud charges and placed him under arrest accordingly. The male, who was carrying a backpack, was then searched after his arrest. As a result, the officer located a replica .357cal revolver with 6 rounds chambered along with several break and enter tools.

Robert James Gordon Maness is now facing the following charges:

  • Breach of Probation X4
  • Possess Break and Enter Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Weapons Prohibition Order
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order
  • Fraud Under $5000.00
  • Fraudulent Use of Credit Card
  • Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00

 

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody. Below is a picture of the SR.357 CO2 pellet revolver that was seized by police.
