On December 12, 2019, at approximately 2:10 AM, an officer on patrol observed a motor vehicle travelling southbound on Murphy Road that crossed the road’s centre line several times. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of London Road and Murphy Road of the vehicle in question.
As the officer continued speaking with the driver a demand was made to supply a sample of breath into a road side screening device to confirm the level of alcohol in the driver’s blood. Once the test was completed the device indicated a fail. At this time the driver was taken into custody for having over 80 mg of alcohol in his blood and transported to the Sarnia Police Station.
At the station the accused supplied further samples of breath into the Intoxilyzer which confirmed the over 80 mg of alcohol charge.
The accused in this matter, Graham James Pickett, 53 years of age, now faces one count of blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
Please remember that officers will continue relentlessly to stop impaired driving with a zero tolerance.
