Subject: Ratification of Memorandum of Agreements of the Sarnia Police Association (SPA)
We are pleased to announce that the Sarnia Police Association (SPA) and the Sarnia Police Services Board have successfully ratified a new four-year collective agreement for Officers and Civilians dating back to January 1, 2020, through to December 31, 2023. The Association and Board worked cooperatively and respectfully to reach an agreement that provides both wage and benefit improvements while striking a balance for taxpayers.
Wage increases for Officers include 1% in January and 1% in July in each year of the agreement and increases for Civilians include 1% in January and 1% in July in each of the first two years of the agreement and 0.5% in January and 0.5% in July in each of the last two years of the agreement.
This settlement aligns the Sarnia Police Service with their Police comparators which are similar sized services serving populations of 50,000 – 100,000 citizens.
I would like to thank both negotiating committees for their work and commitment in arriving at mutually beneficial agreements.
