Stunt Driving Charge Issued

On May 2, 2022, at approximately 7:35 AM, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement on London Line in the area of Airport Road. At this time the officer heard an engine revving extremely loudly and tires squealing. A white Mitsubishi was then observed coming off of Airport Road and continuing eastbound on London Line causing the noise.

A traffic stop was conducted and due to the manner by which the vehicle was being driven the 26 year old driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for racing a motor vehicle (stunt driving). As well, the vehicle was impounded for 14 days and his licence was suspended for 30 days.

Behaviour where vehicles are driven in such a reckless manner will not be tolerated (speeding, squealing tires, unnecessary noise, etc.). When and where possible enforcement will be conducted to the fullest extent. We ask people to remember that driving in a safe manner is the law and it may not only be your life that you are putting at risk when driving in a dangerous manner.
