At approximately 5:00 pm, on Saturday, October 26, 2019, the Sarnia Police Service was contacted regarding a vehicle swerving all over the road while northbound on Indian Road in the area of Exmouth Street.
Officers were informed of the direction of travel of the vehicle and thanks to the information located the vehicle on Kim Street. The investigating officer formed grounds to arrest the accused for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and the male driver was taken into custody.
The accused was transported to the station where he was presented to a qualified Breath Technician to administer the Intoxilyzer Instrument breath test. Results indicated that the accused was nearly four times the legal limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
The accused, 28-year-old David Jacob Vanderveen, of Sarnia, has been charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired, having a blood concentration of 80 plus, and breach of probation.
