Vice Unit Requests First Warrant of 2021

As part of an ongoing investigation by the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit a Controlled Drugs and Substances Search Warrant to search a residence in the 400 block of Devine Street, regarding the trafficking of illicit drugs, was granted by the courts.

On January 5, 2021, at approximately 7:00 PM, officers from the Vice Unit, with assistance from the Sarnia Police Service COPPS Unit, were conducting surveillance on the residence in question when the suspect was observed leaving the residence on foot. The suspect attempted to flee from police but after a short foot pursuit the suspect was taken into custody without any further incident. The warrant was subsequently executed on the residence.

Officers were able to seize the following:

  1. 30.4 grams of cocaine (street value of $3040)
  2. 15.1 grams of methamphetamine (street value of $1510)
  3. $1405 in Canadian currency

The accused in this matter, Nicholas Edward Bailey, 24 years of age, of Sarnia, faces two counts of possession of a Schedule I Substance. Bailey has since been released on and Undertaking with his first court date being February 3, 2021, at 9:30 AM, at the Sarnia Court House located at 700 Christina Street North.
