Victim Faces Life-Threatening Injuries

 

On May 1, 2022, the Sarnia Police Service responded to an address in the 800 block of Devine Street regarding an assault that had taken place.

A 47 year old male, from Sarnia, had been stabbed several times by another male. The victim was transported to Bluewater Health but due to the severity of his injuries he was later transported to a London hospital and is in critical care.

It is alleged that the accused was sexually inappropriate towards a female that was present in the residence. When another female and the male ,that was stabbed, confronted the accused and asked him to leave the situation quickly escalated and during the altercation the male victim was stabbed several times. All involved are known to each other.

The accused fled the residence but fortunately police were able to locate him a short distance away and he was taken into custody without further incident.

The accused, Dillon Jacob Gray-Vail, 19 years of age, of Sarnia, faces the following charges:

1. Sexual Assault
2. Two counts of assault with a weapon
3. Aggravated assault

Gray-Vail remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
