A 57 year old female from Sarnia was recently arrested for Operating a Conveyance with Over 80mg of Alcohol in 100ml of Blood.
On November 8th, 2020 shortly before 9pm, officers from the Sarnia Police Community Response Division responded to a business in the 600 block of Murphy Road after a witness reported a possible impaired driver outside of her vehicle in the parking lot of this store. The accused female in this case entered this vehicle and began to pull forward just as police arrived on scene. After officers safely stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, it was determined that she was operating a vehicle with alcohol in her bloodstream. A subsequent breath demand into a roadside screening device registered a “fail” reading.
As a result, the driver was placed under arrest and transported for further breath tests which in turn resulted in a blood alcohol concentration of 2.5 times the legal limit.
The accused Laura Elizabeth Spero has been charged accordingly with Operating a Conveyance with 80mg of Alcohol and Over in 100ml of Blood. Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and her vehicle has been impounded for one week.
